Cross-Border Experience Inspires Students to Explore

On May 15, KING's Solution Corp. was invited by Professor Yu-Teh Liu of Yuan Ze University (YZU) to deliver a guest lecture for the "Emerging Markets" course in the Department of International Business. The lecture, titled "The Road to India: KING's Solution’s Practical Experience in Developing the Indian Market," was presented by Executive Director Sheila Su. Professor Liu noted that the course focuses on the development of Southeast Asian emerging markets, equipping students with practical insights through market analysis, case studies, and expert sharing.

One Woman's Journey in India: Cultural Challenges

During the lecture, Sheila Su shared KING's Solution’s 30-year journey in the Indian market, recounting her personal experiences of traveling solo to India on multiple occasions. From client negotiations to cultural adaptation, she discussed how to navigate the Indian market with empathy and understanding.

Sheila recalled a memorable incident during an international exhibition when her passport and luggage were stolen. Faced with this crisis, she actively sought help from local police and negotiated multiple times to resolve the issue. Reflecting on the experience, she said with a smile, "When facing challenges in the Indian market, you need to take initiative, build connections, and quickly adapt." She emphasized that cross-cultural communication requires flexibility and a positive mindset.

During the Q&A session, a female student asked, "What was the most dangerous situation you encountered in India?" Sheila openly shared that Indian men’s perceptions of women differ from those in Taiwan, which requires extra awareness. However, since her trips were mainly business-oriented, local clients would pick her up at the airport, making her feel relatively safe. She advised students, "If you’re traveling for leisure, especially as a woman, always stay vigilant and prioritize safety."

Encouraging Critical Thinking and Independence

Interestingly, both Sheila Su and General Manager Charles Hsu arrived early to attend presentations by third- and fourth-year students from the Department of International Business. Although the students had not visited India, their well-researched and creative presentations vividly portrayed the local market landscape. Sheila praised their efforts, saying, "I was genuinely impressed by the students' dedication and creativity."

In her closing remarks, Sheila emphasized the importance of critical thinking in today’s information-driven world. "Being able to distinguish between facts and opinions is essential for logical reasoning. Maintaining an unbiased mindset helps prevent being swayed by false information and subjective evaluations." She encouraged students to stay curious, question singular perspectives, and analyze situations from various angles.

Strengthening Industry-Academia Collaboration

After the lecture, Professor Liu expressed his gratitude to KING's Solution for sharing practical insights and noted that the session provided students with a deeper understanding of the Indian market. He also showed interest in KING's digital transformation through AI. Charles Hsu welcomed Professor Liu and his students to visit KING's Solution in the future, hoping for more collaboration opportunities.

KING's Solution remains committed to industry-academia cooperation, actively participating in university lectures to share practical business experiences. The company aims to help students develop a global perspective, encouraging them to embrace diverse experiences and build their professional paths.
